Bobby (2006)
Summary: The story of the assassination of U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy, on June 6th, 1968, which centers around 22 people who were at the Ambassador Hotel where he was killed.
Thoughts: i knew a guy who did some extras work on this picture. he told me to expect some really really great things, i can't wait to see this!

Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny (2006)
Summary: In Venice Beach, naive Midwesterner JB bonds with local slacker KG and they form the rock band Tenacious D. Setting out to become the world's greatest band is no easy feat, so they set out to steal what could be the answer to their prayers -- a magical guitar pick housed in a rock-and-roll museum some 300 miles away.
David's Performance: Frat Boy #2. sweet.
Thoughts: ah the D. every D fan has been waiting for this movie for ages. Jack Black has promised us a movie about the origins of the band, i expect to be so completely enthralled with this film that my very undertsanding of existance is expanded to horizons only dreamt of by the most enlightened gurus of centuries passed. i expect to be rocked to my very soul. or at least have a good giggle.

Kill the Poor (2006)
Summary: When a marriage of convenience becomes the real thing, Joe moves his pregnant French wife to a tenement building on New York's Lower East Side. The street is like a war zone with none of the nostalgic appeal that Joe remembers from tales of his immigrant grandparents arriving in the same neighborhood with a new life. This is the urban frontier filled with a wildly funny mixture of gentrifies, homeboys, dealers and local residents simply bent on staying a float.
Thoughts: This is kind of an interesting sounding movie, but the summary is a little strange. it seems to imply that Joe, David's character, is the main role but the billing puts him eighth (the woman playing his wife, Clara, is first). still, sounds worth trolling ebay for.

Serenity (2005)
Summary: The crew of the spaceship Serenity find themselves running from a maniacal and deadly operative who wants a misterious girl who's stowed away aboard their ship.
David's Performance: don't be fooled by his character name, Mr. Universe, he's not playing a body builder. Mr. Universe lives on a remote hideout and monitors the signals that race across the galaxy. he's like the ultimate hacker and the wizard of oz all in one. he's so fun in this flick, i giggled at just about everything, especialy the wedding serimony flashbacks with him and his love-bot. classic.
Thoughts: this movie is chock-full of joss whedon goodness. i really can't say enough good things about it. it was awsome. whether you're a sci-fi fan or not, seriously go see this flick. when my blood sugar goes back up i'll write about how awsome it was with more excited words.

My Suicidal Sweetheart (2005)
Summary: A suicidal comedy about two young lovers who get married and escape from a mental institution in search of new ways to die...and the white light.
David's Performance: david is so flipping good in this movie i was riveted. there's this one scene on a bridge that kills me just thinking about it. i'll admit i cried, but i won't tell you at what, you'll have to see it yourself. he plays max, a rich kid who has never found anything worth staying alive for until he meets grace, who's ten times more messed up than he is. this is a tremendous work from dave and a really great movie.
Thoughts: ahh man i was so happy to see this movie at the San Diego film festival, it was a riot! funny and creepy and touching, all the good things a movie should be. if you get the chance to see this at a film fest somewhere near you DO IT.

Ray (2004)
Summary: The extraordinary life story of Ray Charles. A man who fought harder and went farther than anyone thought possible.
David's Performance: david plays an interesting supporting character in this biopic, milt shaw, a go-getting young music exec. who takes on representation of Ray Charles. he's like ray's wing man for a while, helps him get what he needs and do what he wants on his rocket to mega-fame. i loved seeing him in this, he fit so well with the mood/feel/look of this movie, a superb job!
Thoughts: I've been curious since seeing this movie if david was cast because he looks like the actual Milt Shaw. however, i havn't found a picture of the man anywhere to find out. also, i noticed that the first time we see him, he's young and has that great Elvis style poofy hair that's actually really hot, but later they slick his hair back and make it all flat. i speculate that this is to make him look like an older man who's hair is thinning. which i guess is hot too, you know... if Sipowicz is your kinda man.

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004)
Summary: Fast Food. High Times. Buttoned up Harold and laidback Kumar are stoners who have a need for some White Castle Burgers, which becomes a perilous journey full of strange obstacles.
David's Performance: David Plays the character Goldstien, a stoner rooming with American Pie's Eddie Kaye Thomas (also a funny man), and he's freaking hilarious. i laughed so hard i almost wet my drawers. sorry that's gross, but so is this movie. if you don't like gross/vulgar/sexual humor you probably won't get this flick. if you're under 16 your parents should be smart enough not to let you see this movie, and if they aren't, shame on them. anyone else: rent it and laugh your butt off!
Thoughts: please please! if you rent the dvd, check out the extras and deleted scenes. there's the most outrageously funny bit with David and Eddie. all i'll say is Eddie is dressed like a Hasidic Jew and David looks like freaking Ali G, man i'm laughing just thinking about it.

Looking for Kitty (2004)
Summary: A high school baseball coach (David Krumholtz) and a down-on-his-luck private investigator (Burns) form a bond as they scour New York City for the coach's wife, who's run away with a second-rate rock star.
Thoughts: David's playing a guy named Abe? oh i get it. anyway, this was directed by Edward Burns and marks the second film that he and David have worked on together. This is i guess a little indy flick that was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival. If you've seen it you're lucky because i don't think it has plans to go wide.

Scorched (2003)
Summary: Three mischevious employees of a bank in a small deserted town all make separate plans to rob it at the same time.
David's Performance: David has the indeleble honor of playing Max, a stupid danger-loving teenager. he and friend Stu are the film's only saving grace. Max hounds his friend into robing the bank he works at, taking the money to vegas, gambling until they make a profit, then returning the stolen amount back before anyone notices the next day. there also happens to be like a million other employees who want to rob the bank the same night, but you could pretty much have scraped all of them and made the film just about Max and Stu and it would have been a whole lot better.
Thoughts: i'll be perfectly honest with you, i hated this movie. the only reason it got one star was cause david was in it and he was very amusing as a jerk kid who thinks he's invincable. all his stuff with Paulo Costanzo, who plays Stu, is great, they're a good team. so good that i had to fast forward through the other parts that didn't have them in it.

Cheats (2002)
Summary: A group of friends cheat their way through high school..... well almost.
David's Performance: David's role as Evan Rosengarden is short lived and desperately underdeveloped, but that's no fault of his. the character gets introduced in the very begining of the film like it's going to be a main role, but then after two short scenes we never see him again, leaving me personaly very bummed. the rest of the movie doesn't do much to make up for his loss either.
Thoughts: Dave had like a three second part in this flick which was dissapointing cause i think they could have done more things with his character. but i guess the movie was based on real events and if the main character never saw that guy again in real life, then so be it.

The Santa Clause 2 (2002)
Summary: Scott Calvin has been a humble Santa Claus for nearly ten years, but it might come to an end if he doesn't find a Mrs. Claus.
David's Performance: Bernard the elf is challenged by a new elfin upstart, Curtis. an absolutely adorable kid who i can't fault for being darn watchable. i can't help it, i just love to watch David in these movies cause he's so delightfuly and charmingly childish! this movie is good times for all ages. though it's a sequal, it's actually as good, if not better, than the first. be sure to watch the dvd behind the scenes tour with Curtis the elf for some great Bernard-the-slightly-aggraveted-elf moments!
Thoughts: Bernard baby, it's all about the Jheri Curl! hehehe ^_^ i've heard it said that he doesn't like the way his character looks preticularly because of the hair. but let me speak for us all and say that the lace-up boots, lush velvet clothing, and pointy ears are very "elf hot" and well make up for any Lionel Richie complexes you may be having.

You Stupid Man (2002)
Summary: After a man finally gets over his former girlfriend, who has moved to Los Angeles and become a television star, and falls in love with another woman, the former girlfriend's show is canceled and she wants him back.
David's Performance: Dave plays Owen who is fittingly, a very stupid man. but also a very honest man with his heart on his sleave. the middle of the movie is what makes it worth watching, the interaction between Owen and Milla's character is this great close, platonic friendship that allows them to be completely honest with eachother about everything without pretence. also, this movie's got the best kiss from dave i've seen yet -_^ (pointless extra comment? maybe.)
Thoughts: Dude, how cool would it be to be fought over by Denise Richards and Milla Jovovich! (i mean if i was a guy that would probably be cool...) the best parts of this were between Dave and Milla once they became friends, it was the most honest part of the movie. the rest of the time i felt like it was trying to be either a funny romanic comedy or a funny situation comedy, but not really being all that funny.

Big Shot: Confessions of a Campus Bookie (2002)
Summary: Based on a real-life 1994 scandal involving college basketball point-shaving. College freshman Benny Silman moves from Brooklyn to the red hot west right near Vegas, gets wrapped up in bet handling, point-shaving, and more money than he's ever seen.
David's Performance: it's been too long, i have to watch it again.
Thoughts: i've only ever seen this on vhs but there's audio comentary by David on the dvd which is enough to make me want to rent it.

According to Spencer (2001)
Summary: Spencer (Jesse Bradford) moves to L.A. and takes a job in the mailroom of a large company, where he encounters Melora, who he has been in love with since elementary school.
David's Performance: David and Adam Goldberg are gold together, i luff them. they play the outragously strange roommates of the main character who are bent on realizing thier dream of creating a brilliant film that ends up being just a really bad porno.
Thoughts: i like Jesse Bradford and i love Adam Goldberg, so why didn't i get into this movie? dunno, perhaps it needed to be better written? perhaps. the stuff with Dave, Adam, and Jesse is pretty funny, but it really could have been riotously funny if done right.

Two Can Play That Game (2001)
Summary: An arrogant career woman plays a series of heartless mind-games with her boyfriend to "put him in line," only to discover that he has a few tricks up his own sleeve.

Sidewalks of New York (2001)
Summary: In a city of 8 million people, what are the odds the perfect two will meet? This is the story of the interlocking lives and loves of six New Yorkers.

The Mexican (2001)
Summary: A man tries to transport an ancient gun called The Mexican, believed to carry a curse, back across the border, while his girlfriend pressures him to give up his criminal ways.
Thoughts: i know i've seen this movie but it was a long time ago and before i knew about David. i'll have to see it again cause i don't really remember anything except that i think i liked it.

How to Kill Your Neighbor's Dog (2000)
Summary: Shy, chain-smoking, insomniac Peter McGowan (Kenneth Branagh) is an L.A. playwright with a string of failed productions. his current project is having trouble, his wife wants to have a child but he does not, and a stranger is meandering the neighborhood claiming to be him.
David's Performance: david plays the director of Pete's new play in production. he's young, hip, gay, and in love with Petula Clark songs. this a role very unlike anything else he's ever done and he goes for it all the way. his hilarious interaction with the theatre actors is priceless. plus his party costume is a kick too, but you'll have to watch it to see.
Thoughts: freaking brilliant movie. i really love this film i don't know why it's not far more heralded than it is. it's funny, touching, empassioned. go rent it and watch it with someone smart who will appreciate it's quality.

Liberty Heights (1999)
Summary: In the fall of '54, Ben -a high school senior from an almost exclusively Jewish neighborhood- and his older brother Van are exploring "the other kind." In Ben's case, it's friendship with Sylvia, an upperclass Black student; with Van, it's a party in the WASP part of town and falling for a debutante, Dubbie.
Thoughts: this is a really great movie but it's been a while, i'll have to watch it again.

10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
Summary: How do I loathe thee? Let me count the ways. A remake of the classic Shakespare play "The Taming of the Shrew", set in a modern day highschool.
Thoughts: ok i know i've seen this movie a hundred times over the years, so it will probably sound very lame of me to say it's been too long and i need to see it again before i comment, but it's my site so you'll have to buy whatever excuses i come up with.

The Ice Storm (1997)
Summary: 1973, suburban Connecticut: middle class families experimenting with casual sex, drink, etc., find their lives out of control and thier children suffering the consequences.
David's Performance: dave plays Francis Davenport, a friend to one of the main characters. i know i love this movie (it's one of my very favorites), but i'll have to see it again to comment on Dave specificly.

The Santa Clause (1994)
Summary: When a man inadvertantly kills Santa on Christmas Eve, he finds himself magically recruited to take his place.
David's Performance: you know him. you love him. Bernard the Elf will forever have a place in our hearts, young and old. best moment of the film, when Bernard casualy plucks the sandwich out of the psychiatrists hand and the shrink looks up with a priceless expression and says "he's drawing us into his delusion!"
Thoughts: Christmas! Krumholtz! it's a classic!

Addams Family Values (1993)
Summary: The wackiness continues with everybody's favorite freakshow, the Addams family. This time the family tries to rescue their beloved uncle Fester from his gold-digging new love.
David's Performance: david is a-dorable in this flick! so cute in the indian costume. ok anyway, he plays kindred spirit and love interest of Wednesday Adams (Christina Ricci). the two young actors play really well off eachother, they steal the whole movie.
Thoughts: Interesting point of fact, when i was in grade school, my nickname was Wednesday. i had the straight black hair and dispassionate expression.

Life with Mikey (1993)
Summary:Michael Chapman is a talent agent and a former child star who's grown up, and grown out of his popularity, but he gets more than he bargained for when he recruits a child pickpocket to be his next "star."
David's Performance: Little David plays Barry Corman, Mikey's (Michael J. Fox) biggest client. he's a drama queen and a spoiled brat and falls maddly in love (as much as a 13 year old can) with Angie Vega, Mikey's new pickpocket roommate/star client. he is SO cute it's rediculous and totaly steals he show every time he's on screen.
Thoughts: he totaly reminds me of Gomez Addams at times in this, which just cracks me up.
